Statue of St. Florian

Statue of St. Florian: the statue on a stone column in the middle of a roundabout

The statue of St. Florian was made before 1866, the year carved on its pedestal, in honour of St. Florian, patron of the town and a saint of the Catholic Church, a protector against fires and floods – disasters that struck the town countless times after its colonisation by the Swabians.
