Zrenjanin National Museum

Zrenjanin National Museum: two-storey corner building with a mansard roof

Today's National Museum was founded in 1906 as the Museum of Torontal County; it is decorated with a free-standing sculpture, a symbolic figure of industry, agriculture, science and art.

Since 1966 the museum has been housed in the former Finance Palace, built in 1894, on what is today Liberty Square, in the town centre.

The museum is a complex institution of regional character, and its research work covers Central Banat. The five collection departments of the museum hold over 33,000 museum objects. Since 2005 the National Museum of Zrenjanin has had three exhibition spaces on the ground floor of the building, in which thematic exhibitions are presented: the Salon, the Small Salon and the museum lobby.
